“Where did you go?” in European Portuguese
This is lesson 4 of 5 in Unit 11, The past (O fim de semana passado), an A2 unit in which you say what you did yesterday, last weekend and last year. - Onde é que tu foste ontem?Where did you go yesterday?Foste = you went (tu).
- Como foi o teu fim de semana?How was your weekend?Here foi is the past of ser: "it was".
- Foi ótimo, obrigado!It was great, thanks!Ótimo = great, excellent.
- Nós fomos à praia no domingo.We went to the beach on Sunday.
- Eu estive em Faro na semana passada.I was in Faro last week.To say where you were, use estar: estive.
- Tu estiveste em casa ontem?Were you at home yesterday?
